Use to Sync at 3.5Mb, now only 1.7Mb? Whats Happenning?

Sound thing really weird is going on, my Broadband has always been able to connect at 3.5MB (since the launch of DSL Max).

Approx 2 weeks ago, I was moved on to Mid from Sky Connect and everything was working perfectly. On Thurs my router didn't respond and I turned it off/on. Now my router can only sync at 1.5MB and my line stats are weird.

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 1760 kbps 416 kbps
Line Attenuation 15.5 db 31.5 db
Noise Margin 18.7 db 14.0 db

My line attentuation downstream is normally about 50db, yet it's now 15.5db and my noise margin would normally hold at about 11db and that's increased.

If the above stats were accurate, I should be on nearly 8MB downstream.

Spoke to Sky CS and I need to ring back to talk too a Tier 3 person.

Has any one else had this experience? Thought they might have been capping me, but looking at my stats, something is wrong.

      Thanks in advance.

full stats would help first but id also reboot ur router as im pretty sure ur att. level is the 15.5 bug rearing its had again....

it would appear that ur capped tough - the full stats would help diagnose this

Re: Use to Sync at 3.5Mb, now only 1.7Mb? Whats Happenning?

Took another look this morning and found that the Sky box had been plugged straight into the BT Socket. I plugged it back in last week, to do a call back and forgot to remove it.

Once the cable was removed, I turned the router off and on. Now syncing better than ever at 4MB and my line stats are correct again.

It started the day, I plugged the Sky Box back in and I thought nothing of it at the time. Strange, but the box must have been interferring with the signal on the line.

      Thanks for your help.
