      Evening disconnections/speed drop

      Hi there,

      Most evenings between 8pm-1am ish I suffer frequent disconnections or speed loss. uPnP has been deactivated on my router, but the problems still occur. Dont suppose anything that can see anything in that stats that may suggest why this is happening?

      The stats need to be over a longer period of time with heavy use to show anything up, at least a couple of hours worth if you can. Have you tried plugging into your test socket behind the face plate of the BT master?

      Classic symptom of a falling noise margin - please see the first sticky in my signature.

      It looks quite likely you have a line problem as your router is syncing to ADSL2 rather than ADSL2+ (which I assume is the mode you're on - with your attenuation you'd be better off on G.DMT). This can happen when there is high frequency rf interference. Just a thought, is the router or cable close to something electrical such as a TV, radio or perhaps a monitor?

      Do you include wireless telephone as potential problem?

      Yes. Anything like that such as baby monitors, video senders, microwaves or just electrical devices that give off rf noise.

      Could be happening outside of the house of course.

      Re: Evening disconnections/speed drop

      The DECT wireless phone is the only thing I can think of to be honest. It's also pretty close to the router...

      I've posted current stats incase it sheds any more light. However the problem only seems to surface of an evening!

      Re: Evening disconnections/speed drop

      Well at some point you have had a massive surge of CRC/line errors:

      Latest 1 day time = 20 hours 20 min 55 sec
      SF = 4525711
      CRC = 213748
      LOS = 29
      LOF = 0
      ES = 8088

      That could be your problem, have you tried the test socket behind the face plate of your BT master?

      Re: Evening disconnections/speed drop

      I have exactly the same thing happening.
      Errors have been low or non existent all day and then I have a surge.
      I have done all the tests by only being connected to the test socket yesterday and the phone is now reconnected. All that I did during the period when the errors happened was use the Sky remote control. Can't believe it's that. The surge happened at roughly the same time yesterday. If the line was noisy surely the surge would occur more often and be more random.
