Currently Sky are offering connect for 5 / month if your exchange will be upgraded in the next 6 months or so, might be worthwile seeing if you can get it at that price.
I've checked on the Sky website, and it's only available to me at the full price. I also emailed Easynet, and got a very quick reply telling me that my exchange is "not currently in the rollout plan for 2007/8". It's a shame, because I would probably have taken the risk and signed up for Connect right now if the exchange upgrade was on the horizon and I didn't have to start a new 12 month contract when moving to Mid/Max. As it stands, I think I'll wait it out for a bit, and try an ISP with a monthly rolling contract so I can move again at short notice if/when Sky upgrades my exchange.

I believe the connect product is shaped. So unless your just a light user I would tend to go with a better ISP with monthly contract until your exchange has been unbundled by Sky. An Entanet reseller, IDnet, Newnet & Zen all have good reps and are all only one month contract.

I'm going to look elsewhere, and consider Sky again when my exchange is enabled for the Mid or Max service.
Sorry for the confusion, but I simply meant the connect is a BT product and therefore thay are responsible for the exchange etc, where as base/mid/max is actually sky's equipment in the exchange. Of course all ISPs offer differences with regards to caps, throttling etc. A lot of people in teh past in these forums think that sky are responsible for the equipment in the exchange for the connect product too.

Thanks, that's the information I was looking for. I suspected Sky might be using traffic shaping on Connect.

I like the look of both Zen and Entanet, and I can consider moving again (and saving some money) when Sky upgrades my exchange.

Perhaps a little glimmer of hope for you....

When Sky BB was first announced I emailed Easynet & got a very definite response: "No way will your exchange be unbundled until at least 2008".

Well they actually unbundled it half way through 2007. So keep an eye on the Sky website checker & Sam Knows.
