      Different Websites Login: A Sky Problem?

      Ever since moving to Sky yesterday, download speeds and upload have been great, pings not so good but I can get that sorted when I get the PS3 so no worries now.

      Two problems though: both to do with Websites.

      Now on AOL websites loaded instantly, and I mean instant even though I was on 1MB Broadband, but now on 16MB (and speed tests confirm between 14-17Mbps) most are taking a good few seconds to load. I've tried OpenDNS but they only make it slightly quicker, still takes 2-3 seconds for a page (petty I know but hey), And I have problems logging into any website;

      e.g. can't access MySky features, as I login, then try to use remote record or check e-mail and it says (You need to be logged in to do that). So I try and login again and same error occurs. Also trying to post on these forums I have to re-sign in after every post.

      Where Am I going wrong?

      And also I use Sky Anytime for the first time ever yesterday and enjoyed it, however when I logged out, I later tried to log back in and it gave me the error "Whoops look like your logging in from another PC, too many PC Clients I think". What's that all about!?

      And conincidentally would anybody mind checking my stats, I'm sure they're fine but just want to be sure....

      Most users would give an arm for these figures.

      Are you using IE7? If so, turn off the phishing filter, this can double page loading times and is of questionable use. Also consider installing Firefox, this is reckoned to be faster and safer than IE and it can be configured exactly as you want it.

      If you would like a pluggin for Firefox, try THIS one, it is free and does not slow down loading too much. McAfee now own the rights to it and will no doubt eventually withdraw it, in favour of their Pro version, in the meantime, make the best of it.

      Re: Different Websites Login: A Sky Problem?

      OK, so still slow loading pages time, even with Firewall temp disabled (as a test), and very inconsistent d/l figures. I'll start a download (from a server such as Microsoft's) and it will start at 1320kb/s then keep on falling until about 600.

      Then climb again.

      Then fall.

      It's frustating as I'm having incosistent speed.

      Were you on AOL before?

      If so,

      Open IE

      Go to tools < Internet Options < Connections < Tick - Never dial a connection < Lan Settings < Untick all boxes on left. Click OK and then Apply and try again.
