      Setup problems, urgent help.

      Hi, just left Virgin after my sky box has been sitting here for the past few weeks and it was activated just over a week ago i decided that i would install it. After lots of initial problems i decided to move my router next to my phone line(about 10 metres away)but thats not the problem, its all the microfilter malarky and the fact that the internet dont work even though all the lights are on. My days of fixing internet problems were over years ago and i only ever bothered with cable modems so my knowledge of adsl has gone, anyway ill start off with the wiring. I got a microfilter plugged into my main BT socket and in that microfilter i have the modem wire plugged into it (the one from the router) and the sky+ box which has the dual ports at the back. Then i have the landline phone wire in the back of the sky connection. The Internet light on the router is green, the wirless light is green, the powerlight is green and the number 1 is green. But when i try to use the internet it just wont connect (luckily virgin is still running but itsbeen going off all day so i dont have long) the CD that came with the package was of no help and in my network connections i only have "1394 Connection Net Adapter" can anyone help, need urgent advice sorry if this seems a bit jumbled up and not to well written, im tired and annoyed of trying to fix this all day while im waiting for urgent emails will highly appreciate any help given!

      Can you log into your router?

      http://192.168.0.1/start.htm

      username admin
      password sky

      If not you need to sort out the network port on your PC, it sounds as if it may be disabled, as you only mention your 1394 firewire port being shown.

      Hi, cheers for the help i cant log onto that but i am about to go check my BIOS to see if anything in there is to do with network, going to check my install cd see if theres any network installation bits on there.

      Haha schoolboy error on my part, i knew i had to install something but i wasnt sure if it was the network drivers or something else thanks pen!
