      left click on internet protocol (tcp/ip). Left click on properties. Select obtain an ip address automatically. Select obtain DNS server addresses automatically. Left click OK, then once again. Open internet options. Left click on connections tab. Select never dial a connection. Click on LAN settings. Uncheck everything. Left click OK, then once again.

      Try again to connect to router and report back.
      Make sure you do this, all morning I been trying to figure out this connection sure I tested it on my laptop and it worked, so there must be a problem with your NIC it might be getting the wrong ip address.

      Had similar problem

      Mine was not installing but the problem was I had two LAN connections installed and one was disabled at some stage (not sure when as I'd always used a USB modem before). I enabled that and everything was OK.

      Hi again.

      Ive tried all the advice that you have given me and none of it seems to work. I rang sky and they are sending me a new router but I dont think that is the problem. I forgot to say before that my wanadoo connection didnt work for a while before I changed over to sky, so could it be a problem with my line even though bt say there is no fault on my line.

      Can you login to your router via your Web Browser?

      If you can, you should see your connection on the first page that is presented to you. On it you will see your downstream as well as upstream speed. Report them here...

      On the front page, there is also a Sky Test button. Press it and report your results here.
