    Internet light, no connection

      Internet light, no connection

      Hi,

      My broadband was supposed to be activated today, the connection with my old ISP went away around 10am and I plugged in the sky router.

      Now, the green light for the internet connection shows up but i dont actually have a connection. In the router i can see the down and up sync speeds and what have you, and the connection status windows shows "LCP Can Come Up"

      Should I give them a call or wait out 3 days?

      give it a day or so, prob just finalising migration - having said that might show that BT haven't bothered to jumper you properly so if it's not working by 2moro call up and Sky can log it to BT - get tier 1 to do a tone test, if it fails then it needs logging and you'll get passed to tier 2

      Got a voice text today saying it had been activated

      Unfortunatley i still have the problem, so i called up and after a few mins got told i was being escalated to tier 3

      Waiting on a call back, they prob wont call this side of christmas knowing my luck

      Good luck with it. Still waiting for connection. My activation date was the 31/7/07!!!

      Sounds like an exchange issue

      did tier 1 do a tone test? if it failed then its a jumpering issue

      No, the person on the phone wasnt particularly helpful, wouldnt listen to me at all. Basically made me log into the router, step by step then threw me off to Tier 3

      had they done a tone test it would prob fail, have gone to tier 2 and be done by now......

      I called up again today, got a nice friendly guy on Tier1 who got me through to Tier 3.

      Tier 3 logged in to check, " a stale session " , he reset that and that was it fixed. If only they gave us access to the actual WAN config where we could change the passwords etc! Could have fixed it last night..

      So it wasn't something serious like I feared, all fixed and running.

      ideal!! glad its finally done - still shoulda be done qicker tho

      and its nothing to do with the WAN settings, the stale session is exchange based and i doubt very much Sky'd give you access to that!!!
