      Mid pack upgrade = problems

Hello, was upgraded on 01/08/2007 to the mid pack LLU and from then on my phone has only had outgoing calls.

When i run a speed test i can only get upto about 2181kbps not anywhere near the 7000kbps sync speed.
Before MID I would sync at between 6000 - 7000 and my speed tests came back over 5000kbps.
Why would they now be so bad. There have been no floods in the area and the ecchange is showing green with no known problems.
I only have a master socket with the bt filtered face plate. the above stats are taken from the test socket.

When trying to use the Mossywell Bounce router prog i cant keep a connection I set up this when i was on connect pack to keep a SNR of 12db but this does not work on the MID pack as the router just keeps rebooting.
      Thank you

Re: Mid pack upgrade = problems

If you disconnect the router does the phone work corrctly? Try a different microfilter. If it does not work correctly you need to get in touch with sky or BT.

Have you tried a different speed test site such as Namesco BroadbandMax ADSL Broadband Bandwidth speedtest | Test your ADSL Broadband connection speed

here are the other speed test results:

Namesco BroadbandMax Bandwidth speedtest | Test your ADSL connection speed

The phone line is fine for making calls and the router is connected to the filtered face plate from BT and that is about 1 foot away from the drop cable using BT white cable.

Re: Mid pack upgrade = problems

I have a fault on my phone line. It does not accept incoming calls, when anybody calls me it rigns for 1 sec then says try later. BT have now put all incoming calls to my mobile with no date to fix this problem.

When i do a quiet line check i can here lots of buzzing and a very faint noise just like the alarm that you here if you dont put your phone back properly.

Would these faults and noise cause the speed issue?
Why does it sync at a good speed but not run at a good speed?

Re: Mid pack upgrade = problems

I would think the problem is most definitely the fault, you may sync at a high speed but due to errors that are occurring on the line you can only achieve a certain speed.

It is hard to say anything else really until the fault is fixed.

Re: Mid pack upgrade = problems

plus, when BT fix it they'll disconnect ur BB so you'll have to get onto Sky to get it back on too (if BT do things their normal way) - it could be a tie pair issue but BT will let us know that if we need to log a fault....
