I just wanna know what my options are for the Lancashire (Lancaster) area for paying line rental to anyone other than BT. They have been so unhelpful and misleading recently that I'd far rather give my money to someone else

If you want Sky broadband then you need a BT line and to be paying your line rental to BT. Theres a few other operators who do the line rental bit as well TalkTalk for one but I had a bad experience with them so wouldn't recommend them.

Rumour was a few months ago that sky were about to offer the line rental for a couple of quid less than bt tho no sign of it happening yet. As koala says as long as its a bt line you can get sky bb on it even if you are paying line rental to another company. I would echo his reservations about talktalk also.

Sky Line Rental - Its active and sales are being made to new (and existing, by the looks of it) customers by the sales teams. Probably worth ringing and finding out whats going on, but I would imagine its just a few teams able to do Line Rental orders at the moment...
