I'm afraid you are stuck untill the 10 day period also at which point your right to cancel would have gone past also. I your exchange was enabled and you could of gotten max or mid you would have seen around 800k/sec downloads, But untill they unbundle your exchange you might aswell be on BT as thats basically what the connect package is , a resold bt product.

That suits me fine - much better than quitting and getting a MAC!! Thanks for the help folks but the moral of the story is that if it hasn't improved by 10 days SKY should be answerable to some stern questions.

Re: 50kb/sec is not broadband! I need some help!

So I start to test the other sockets around the house for different speeds and get a slow speed. I then plug back into the master socket which now has been fitted with an XTE faceplate. I note that the router seems a bit hot so I turned it off over night.

      Waking up this morning:

Re: 50kb/sec is not broadband! I need some help!

After another morning of 135kbsec speeds, I phoned Tech Support:

who told me that my training period had finished 3 days before I plugged in my router. That's fine then.

THey had me switch microfilters (Not applicable with the ADSLNation faceplate). Disconnect telephones (N/A also). Clear temp internet cache. Hard reboot the modem. Then phone them back. Still getting 135kb/sec, with higher upload speed!

Tier 1 then opened a file on me/whatever, and said T3 will phone back in 3-5 working days (so upto a week then). A bit annoying as I will be going away next week.

A bit peeved so as this was day 8 of being plugged in I decided to moan at the cancellation department. A nice man first said that I had a problem being that I was activated on 12th July. I pointed out that I had only logged on on 23rd, and so today was day 8 and he accepted that.

I moaned on for a while and we agreed that I could quit as if in my first 8 days if tech support don't get this resolved. My local exchange only has TalkTalk unbundled so Pipex (my previous ISP) was using BT, as is SKY. There should obviously be no reason why the hardware has changed.

I did not think it was possible for a line to 'train' without a router plugged in. In fact I don't see how it is possible, but there you go, you learn something new every day

Yeah - I wonder what it was training with?!

      Still on 135kb/sec

You're on the Connect package, this should have been sent to Tier 2, not Tier 3.
