Becoming hacked off now ... :(

      Please see my stats below.

I used to get around 4 - 5mb (internal wiring maybe poor or i may be on a meandering path from the exchange which is only 2 miles away). Anyway i now regularly get 148kb!!!!!!

Booooo but why. Nothing has changed in my home or my setup.

Anyway if anyone can interpret my stats i would be very grateful before bawling at T3 again.

      Cheers

Are you sure its not your PC mate?

As you havent been moved onto ADSL1
      Mode: ADSL2+
      Channel: Fast
Your 5Mb sync speed is still there
      Max(Kbps): 5656 880
      Rate (Kbps): 5498 762
and your line errors arent excessive.

      Try;
      Optimise Your Computer!

EDIT : Try testing your speed from BT Openworld

the wireless connect speed is nothing to do with the actual transfer speed, its just theorectical.

Try a wired connection and that will prove one way or the other if your issue is wireless related.

The problem is your on adsl2+ and fastpath and uncapped. You need someone at sky to resolve this for you.

Will do but its been fine for ages so why would it change?
Besides why would the wireless connection be affecting things. Signal strength is awesome seen as i am about 2m away and line of sight?

sorry mate, but loads of things can affect a wirless connection.
using the microwave, bolier coming on etc etc etc. (Bad atmospheric conditions like heavy rain and storms..... but we don't get those in the UK do we).
Have you tried a wired connection yet? Seems a very simple thing to try even if it discounts a reason. Its one of the things that sky will force you to do anyway before they escalate it.

Re: Becoming hacked off now ... :(

I havnt tried a wired connection yet cos i have bad back and i cant be hacked getting the cable out but i will.
I have just checked my speed again via thinkbroadband and its up at 4.5mb today which suggests its nowt to do with the wireless connection. Plus i am an RF and antenna engineer and so i am pretty sure its not the wireless connection (signal strength and i suspect snr is fine as i am in the same room about 2m away and LOS)

I am wondering if its some system/exchange glich?
