      Hello

      You will need to reboot your router, and repost the results, or at least check the listing for the noise attenuation, its fairly obvious that its not 15.5db, - this is a known bug.

      I also note your connection via G.DMT (adsl 1) sky normally move your service to this if your chaving problems with a noisy line.

      OK Guys.....I've had face plate off the spcket and there's no test socket. There are no other sockets in the house either. Anyway, re-booted the modem, ran the test and here are the results.....thanksagain.

      Re: Router probs

      Your router has synced at a better speed but 2 minutes running time isn't long enough to see if anything has improved, errors tend to build up over a period of time or in surges.

      Could anyone please translate these stats for me and pinpoint the prob as to why my connection is woefully slow??

      Re: Router probs

      You have a heck of alot of errors on your line, If you only have one socket with 2 wires connected to the back of it pins 2 and 5 and the router is plugged direct into the main socket i.e. no extension leads or splitters plugged in? then it looks like you have problem with your line.

      Previous 1 day time = 24 hours 0 sec
      SF = 5063902
      CRC = 227308
      LOS = 13605
      LOF = 0
      ES = 7149

      As a rule of thumb the CRC figure should not exceed 0.1% of the SF "Superframes" transmitted, so from the figures above CRC's should not have been more than 5063. As you can see yours are conciderablely higher than that. Each CRC error is a piece of corrupt data that has to be retransmitted which will slow things right down.

      Thanks for that.....
      Do you think I should contact Sky, or BT??
      Or is it just something I have to live with??

      Can be a bit of a mine field if you are 100% sure theres no problems at your end, It is really a BT problem and Sky would probably past it on to them. You could log a call with BT as "intermitent noisey voice calls" to get them to run some tests on the line but dont mention Sky, if you do they wont want to know.
