352K DL on Sky Max, suggestions welcome!
Greetings everyone. I appreciate all the advice that is being shared here, and as a new Sky member I was hoping to get some input from the community. I have had Sky broadband for about a month now and gave been very unhappy with my connection speeds. I would be happy with at least a 2MB download speed, but in most cases I'm lucky if I can get 100KB. Before I attempt to call Sky, I was hoping somebody could suggest a way to improve my speeds. Thank you all very much in advance.
Here is some backround info on my connection:
Sky Max
1.8 miles by car from the Bicester Exchange
Hardwired into the master socket at around 2 a.m. for the stats below
TCP Optimizer ran with not much an impovement.
System Up Time 00:17:12
Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
WAN PPPoA 1976 2399 0 926 2698 00:15:16
LAN 10M/100M 3142 2777 0 2524 931 00:17:11
WLAN 11M/54M 1948 1310 0 409 122 00:17:01
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 352 kbps 768 kbps
Line Attenuation 52.0 db 31.5 db
Noise Margin 7.4 db 13.0 db
Any advice on what I could do, if anything, from my end to improve my connection speed?

Do you have a test socket? If so, try that.

As above, try plugging into the test socket behind the faceplate of your master socket. Browse the interenet for an hour or two, and then post your detailed stats (using Mognuts utlity).

Thank you all for pointing me in the right direction. I actually do not have a test socket behind my master plate. I have searched my entire house to verify this. I will post mt detailed findings later this evening. Thanks again!

Unbelievable. I check my upstairs bedroom where I have a Sky box installed. Running from the BT box is a splitter which connects to the Sky box. After removing the splitter, I am averaging about 3500kb/s now which I am happy with. Much better than 350kb/s for sure!! Thanks for everyone's willingness to help, many thanks.
