Need Help, broandband is down big time

It has been like that for 2 weeks now and SKY still haven;t managed to sort my problem out.

      This is my story

I have been experiencing intermitent disconnection over the weekends in the past 3 months, Since 2 weeks ago, i am complete down, cannot get online at all.

Done all checks that Tier 3 asks me to, they said they would send out a new router. It took a bloody week to get to me, and I tried again

This time, Tier 3 asks me to do away with master socket, plug it in the test socket, hey, i am connected !!!

But (I would probably be connected anyway if they asked me to do this with my old router)

Anyway, i am connected, only at 128k, and they throw me at BT. BT don;t want to know anything that is b/band related.

So, I cannot connect thru master, or any sockets, only thru test...

Even thru test, i only get 128k

      WTF....

      Can someone advise

      Cheers

      Joe

Telephone wiring issues are a very common case of problems, now you have a connection of sorts then extract your detailed router stats using the proceedure below and post them here, we will take a look.

Go to the utility web site: Sky Netgear DG834GT utility version 0.4
Click the “Get” detailed modem stats button and click “OK”.
Enter the router login user name and password.
At the next screen, click the back button on your browser.
      Click the “Download” netgear.cfg button.
What you do next depends on your operating system. On Windows XP, click the “Save” button to save the file to your hard disk. (If you click “Open”, you may find that the file association is one that doesn’t handle carriage returns the same way as the router, hence the reason for saying “Save”.)
Open the file in WordPad (not notepad).

if you mention yo had a fault previously and you're on the test speed they should pass you to tier 3 to get the cap removed - its a 3 min job

Re: Need Help, broandband is down big time

      I will post stats later..

now they have me connected again at 512k which is pathetic...

they told me that is the best i can get due to the distance from exchage (5 miles) but a first i was on 1.5 mb line (ok, that might be why i had lots f proble cos i am not stable)

can i get better than 512k? its really sad.....

...and remember to post them with your router connected to the test socket.
