      Unhappy Re: DC++ limited search results

      I, too, am having the same problem as c0l and Goodgoob.

      I googled the problem to try and find a solution, which is how I found this thread.

      I've disabled UPnP and it doesn't resolve the issue.

      I'm tempted to try connecting using my old router (a la this tutorial), but I'm not that desperate yet and it's too troublesome right now.

      Coupled with the router downtime I keep getting, oh how I regret joining Sky.

      So, is anyone using the Sky Broadband router able to get search results properly? If not, that would probably be the problem.

      Not tried an early version yet actually, but I'll try that and see if it works.

      Re: DC++ limited search results

      No, sadly downgrading from 0.698 to 0.674 (the stable version I'd been using for a long time) made no difference - The results are still limited.

      I don't even think there's another direct connect client out there that works anymore for me to try - NMDC, which DC++ was based on is pretty much ineffective nowadays and I don't know of any others.

      Re: DC++ limited search results

      I have got this exact problem as well.
      I thought i'd setup the ports incorrectly and tried lots of different things but no luck.
      Which version did you roll back to to get it working properly?
      disabling upnp hasn't worked, nor using a dmz.
      I also very rarely get speeds of over 50 mb/s but that's on any website download not just DC++. How can i tell if sky are throttling me? reboots of the router dont make it speed up at all.
      was with UkOnline and didn't have any of these probs.

      Re: DC++ limited search results

      just a quick point regarding earlier versions - as originally stated, I'm still using v0.401.15, and this was entirely successful when used in conjunction with my old Telewest cable modem, but shows the symptoms described when used via the Sky modem.

      col

      (still puzzled)

      Re: DC++ limited search results

      again, SKY DO NOT THROTTLE/TRAFFIC SHAPE/BLOCK anything....so it's not that (sorry to shout)

      DC++

      ^try using that version (it's the latest)....and configure it as firewall with manual port forwarding (with ur IP, e.g. 90.x.x.x) - works for me (and i'm set to DMZ). i also don't have any ports in the ports boxes
