Ordered today - will update you all on progress.

I had my marker removed from my line today, so was able to finally place my order.

This thread is to keep you posted on my progress and see how it compares to otheres experiences.

Key points I was told were:

The router should be delivered on Saturday 16th. (Five day delivery - and they're pretty good at sticking to it apparently)
I should be able to get 5.5Gb on my line (I never dreamed I would get anything like 16Gb, so am quite happy with that estimate)

I'll check the BT site tomorrow to see if the order shows up yet and then compare it to the activation date I am given in my letter.

Hopefully, this will be a short thread journaling a smooth connection.

      Fingers crossed.

      Andrew.

Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.

Damn those Mb and Gb, I'm always mixing them up!!!!

Anyway, a quick look at the BT order tracking site this morning shows an activation date of September 20th. Not too bad really. I was expecting 10 working days, so 7 is OK.

      Fingers crossed for the 20th.

I'll let you know when the letter arrives and whether the activation ties up with what BT say.

      Thanks for the good wishes.

      Andrew.

Latest news is that I received my 'Not Long Now' letter today.

This confirms what the BT website says about me being activated next Wednesday, 20th Sept.

I was expecting this letter to have my log in details so I could at least try getting into my new email account online. I guess this comes in a different letter?

How many letters can I expect from Sky?

Is the password a generic one which I will have to change when I first log in?

I'm getting quite excited now, so please excuse my impatient questions! ;-)

      Cheers,

      Andrew

      Cheers Wheelie.

I guess the second letter has my log in details and the final letter is post-activation confirming the date they start charging from then?

It all seems to be going smoothly so far...

      Cheers,

      Andrew.
