and iagree about he capping, but if it makes a connection stable in the meantime then surely its a good thing? Means a user has connection while they sort out they're wiring and then we can remove the cap (in an ideal world).....

however, 9MB at 40+ attenuation? doubt that'd ever happen (well, I've yet to see it in 10 months)

Yeh, I understand exactly what you're saying about the upto 16mb, I never for a second expected anywhere near that. The thing is now is that I know full well my line is capable of at least a solid 5.5 because it ran like that for nearly a week. I cant say i'll be impressed if they tell me it has to stay at 1/2mb now. Hopefully its an outage that will get fixed, who knows. I'll post back if I get any news anyway.

There was another question I wanted to ask. I don't seem to be able to ever get any results from speedtester.bt.com, I'm pretty sure its not because of how busy the site is as I generally work unsociable hours so when I get home its normally 12 midnight to 3am, is there anything on sky's end that might be stopping me?

      the situation goes like this....

-you call up and say ur BB is intermittent/sow
-night staff look at these tickets and cap the line (usually to what our speed checker says - not saying its accurate)
-we then retest connection with EU

chances are you called in an issue before and they've 'fixed' it....
