Thinking of getting Sky, a few questions need answering.

Currently have Virgin Media, would like to keep it but have Sky Broadband. Virgin Media all comes through cable, so will having Virgin affect my ability to have Sky Broadband?

We do have a BT Line, is there anything else we need?

For the 'Max' package is it really 10 a month? What about set up and all that?

      Thanks

You'd better get in quick as Max still is on free setup on the website.

So from what you guys are saying, I need to be a Sky TV (digital) user as well? I can't just get broadband and that's it? It's not a problem, I just want to know if its worth it in the long run?

Yep, to get Sky Broadband, you *must* be a Sky TV subscriber.

      Well worth it, IMO.

I paid 25/month for my old fixed 2 Mbps ADSL connection, with a 30GB/month cap.

I now pay 10/month for my Sky BB Max "up to 16 Mbps" connection ("only" around 8 meg for me, due to my exchange distance mainly), with no usage cap.

      Very happy

Re: Thinking of getting Sky, a few questions need answering.

I have Virgin Media, and qualified for free Sky ADSL. I use a router that shares my access between the two services, so I have double the performance and a backup in case one service fails. All of this for no additional cost over the Virgin Media service! Brilliant! Works a treat. But, yes, you do need a BT line. It won't work over a Virgin Media telephone line!!
