      Sudden change in connection relaibility

For a few months very happy with SkyMax. Never had to reconnect, top speed connection. In the last few days, I need to reboot the router every day, sometimes more often because the connection becomes so slow that it is impossible to surf. The statistics are good when the connection is working:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 16382 kbps 764 kbps
Line Attenuation 16.5 db 10.8 db
Noise Margin 11.3 db 12.5 db

Is it a problem with the router?

      Regards

      Pcoda

      Same here

My connection has been dire over the last few days and seems to drop out for several minutes at a time - it's looking like Pipex all over again.

      Anybody else experiencing the same?

Same here, I must have had over 40 disconnections over the last 48 hours or so. I am struggling to stay online for more than 5 minutes at a time at present.

I have another load of disconnections overnight according to the router log although it seems OK this morning, anyone else still seeing these frequent problems ?

Re: Sudden change in connection relaibility

I have also been having connection issues. The line hasnt been dropping, its almost like the connection is stopping and starting which makes game playing almost impossible. I would say this has been going on since saturday.
Will try and post some stats later.

I'm on the Mid package and have been home from work for 25 minutes and for the first 20 minutes I had disconnection after disconnection.

Re: Sudden change in connection relaibility

and here comes my hat being thrown into the ring!

To be honest i've been having this issue with my max connection since it became live last November but over the last few days it's got alot worse.

I seem to be able to maintain a Noise Margin of around 7.3 ish but lately it just drops off. I'm constantly rebooting the router only to check my stats and watch as my noise margin goes 7.1.......7.0.......6.9.......6.8...... and so on until it's down at about 3.

I've tried many, many tips off this site. Messed with settings all day long, moved cordless phones, unplugged everything apart from the router and mac and nothing has worked well enough to give me an even semi-stable connection.

5 months until new ISP! can't wait. I'm sure those whizzkids at Sky will ensure it's a speedy and efficient process.

      they are as follows:

      WAN PPPoA 12769 19738 0 1969 50768 00:08:46
      LAN 10M/100M 20481 13560 0 49189 2578 00:09:16
      WLAN 11M/54M 0 0 0 0 0 00:00:00

However, when the connection slows down to a treacle I cannot even get to the router page!!!
