      Increased CRC Errors

      I have noticed lately (past 3-4 days) my CRC errors have shot up well above the 1% rule and download speeds have dropped to 50 kbps. I have tried from the test socket and know for a fact the wiring was ok before (I have no extensions and no ring wire etc). I have gone from next to no crc errors to s**t loads can anyone advise me? My plan is to call BT and inform them of my noisy voice line, I would just like to double check before hand that faulty sky equipment couldn't be causing this or could it?

      Have you done the BT quiet line test with your router unplugged from the line? (dial 17070, select option 2, listen for noise). If your line sounds noisy then go ahead and call BT to report it, but don't mention broadband.

      I Have tried several quiet tests with mixed results. Seems I have an intermittent problem, sometimes line is quiet other times noisy. However I have been running the tests with router plugged in. I shall do some testing and report back!!
