      Sky and LLU MAC

      Hello all,

      I'm new here

I am thinking of changing to Sky for our ISP, currently with Orange/Wanadoo for the last 3 years.

Orange state on their website the following...'We may ask you to check if your new provider accept LLU Mac codes, if they don't your code will not work.'

On reading the Skyuser FAQs on migration I see that LLU Mac codes are not accepted - though this is dated June 2006. Is this still the case? Or is it safe to get a LLUMac for Sky?

I have checked the FAQs, but can't find an answer, so any help much appreciated... I have teenage boys who would not appreciate being without their Internet access

      Thank you

      Adrian aka Worlestone

its meant to work but best thing is call sales and ask them - they'd be able to tell you. But hopefully someone here may be able to shed some light on it for you

      Re: Sky and LLU MAC

The MACs can be hit and miss. They're meant to work but sometimes don't. If you aren't sure it's best to cease with your old ISP and ensure the line is clear of your previous ISP's marker, then go to Sky with a clear line.

Don't trust Sky sales, they'll say anything to you and don't necessarily know the broadband process.
