    will not connect!

      Question will not connect!

      hi only just found these forums and i must say very interesting quite impressive.
      i have already posted a question regarding router stats this was on the advice of another forum i visited, but i really do not have a clue what im supposed to be doing .
      Basically im losing a long battle trying to connect to the internet. i bought the package back in april and have had this same ongoing problem.and like many of you have been fobbed off by customer services. im using and have been for a while a dial up connection.never had broadband on this pc.or where i live.but the first thing i was told was wrong was another service was using my line.wasnt the case! i went through numerous tests i had a tag i needed a mac code etc. every time this has failed.as i say its showing a connection is ok but i have no internet light on my router and cannot connect to the internet without reconnecting dial up. ive givenup talking to sky and bt and so on. but i wont be beaten. i know others have had the same problems. PLEASE HOW DID YOU RESOLVE THIS.

      It would help to state whether you are using wireless (and which wireless adapter) or using the ethernet cable to connect the computer to the router.

      Its not a good idea to have your telephone number on display for all to see.

      You are using your Sky supplied Router aren't you( I'm reading your other slightly confused post), and you havn't tried flashing it or anything?

      So if you log onto your router is it synchronising with the exchange and are you getting an ADSL IP address?
