      Connection Dropped

Two Laptops and one PC were working fine on WiFi. Last week my Dell laptop without any provocation from me stopped connecting. The other two are working fine. Checked out the Dell and picking up the router fine but cannot automatically configure the IP address. Have tried to set IP Address Subnet Mask and Default Manually but cannot set Address Type as DHCP as is the set up on the other two. Incidentally I did set the IP Address to be one digit away from existing. Any Ideas Anyone??

      Wink Re: Connection Dropped

      Hi

I am not an expert but this is what I did.

First of all I removed the settings from the laptop, then I changed the router name and password and removed the wi fi security. Then checked that laptop could connect by wifi. When this was successful I then switched the wifi security back on. Everything is now fine.

Another thing you may want to check is your firewall, I had one that was randomly blocking the connection but this affected all computers on my router

      Hope this helps

Thanks for that. I'm at work today but I'll give it a go tonight.
