      It's back. For no obvious reason, it's back.

      Blimey. Never had this trouble with Pipex.

      Indicates a faulty adapter. This has nothing to do with the ISP, it is an issue with your PC. The fact that your laptop did not have problems proves this. If I were you I would buy another NIC, they only cost a few pounds and may save some of your hair in the future.

      After suffering Sky wireless, it's a wonder I have any left! I only swapped for a good deal with the football.

      Incidentally, throughout, the NIC was flagged as working properly.

      Apologies for gatecrashing this thread but I am having a similar problem.

      Just signed up to the Sky Mid package after moving home. My laptop is picking up the wireless connection fine although the speed is rather slow, but I am unavle to connect via the Ethernet for my PC.

      My PC was previously configured for Virgin Media cable and I have checked the suggestions on this thread already. My IP address is set to obtain automatically and I've also tried the "Setup a new connection" option in Network Connections.

      Anyone able to advise what next to do?
