I finally got my Wii working with the Sky router after several weeks of pulling my hair out over it.
How did i do it ?
Fairly simple in the end, i turned on the wireless isolation setting on the router, added in the Wii's mac code (can be found in the wii setup menu console details or something), then entered the WPA details and the Wii happily connected to the router and the net.

Re: getting a nintendo wii to connect to the internet

      My Wii connected relatively painlessly.

      What I did:

      - Gave my Wii it's own IP address (192.168.0.12)
      - Entered my WEP/WPA code into the console

Then it worked, for me. My friend did similiar but had to open some ports which are on the Nintendowifi website.

Re: getting a nintendo wii to connect to the internet

      Okay.

First go to 192.168.0.1 on your PC which will be the router page.

From there, select the wireless security to WPA-PSK and choose a password that wouldn't be guessed. At least 7 characters I'd say.

Write that password down and load up the Nintendo Wii.

Go into Settings, and then Network Connections.

Go through the step by step on screen instructions until it comes to the page where it says which wireless security do you have WEP/WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK

Select the middle one (WPA-PSK) and then type in the password using the on screen password that you wrote down earlier. Confirm this and it should set up the rest of the connection automatically.

It may not process successfully sometimes however, if that is the case, log back onto the router, select the tab where you can see what MAC addresses can connect to the network (at work so can't remember what the option is called), and move the Wii's MAC address into the accept list.

Make sure that it is not too far a distance between router and Wii as I've found the wireless on the Wii can be a little weak.

And 'Hey Presto', it should work.

Re: getting a nintendo wii to connect to the internet

I have been getting the same problem as the first 2 posts in this thread. I have tried all the troublehsooting that was on the wii website. i also get the error code 51330.

I can Post my details up by doing IPCONFIG/ALL If that helps.

      PLEASE HELP!

Re: getting a nintendo wii to connect to the internet

I've tried all the above with no success.
I've even looked into getting the latest firmware version but it appears my router is using a more recent version than s available on Netgear's website.
What's annoying is that My Wii used to connect to the web just fine. Probably only a few weeks since I was last on line and now all of a sudden it's stopped.

      Removing the security did nada.

It finds the Network SSID fine but always get the error 51331

Probably a security issue. Here is what Wii say about error 51331
      | Nintendo - Customer Service | Wii - Error Code Results

You should find the solution there.
