I installed it, just to check it out. It drove me crazy with constant beeping alerts and reboot requests after installing updates! Using Nod32 now.

I tried out McAfee when I first got my router. Uninstalled my existing CA eTrust sedcurity suite.

Had a few probs installing McAfee which got sorted with an online support session with one of their tech support guys. However, found that one of the components (cant remember which one) ground my system to an almost halt with its extreme resource utilization. FYI - I am running a 486 66 DX2 with 64 MB of RAM, surely more than powerful enough.

Seriously though, got an Athlon 64 3500 with 1 GB RAM (approx 1 yr old). Uninstalled McAfee and reverted to CA eTruct and resources ok now. Although I have diasbled Firewall because I like to live dangerously!!!

I will let someone else tell you about - seriously i sell the product so it is unfair for me to recommend it, as people would think i am trying to sell to them.

Would have been one of these ;-

      mcagent.exe - 11Mb
      mclogcln.exe - 1.5Mb
      mclogsrv.exe - 6.3Mb
      mcnasvc.exe - 7.3Mb
      mcods.exe - 5.7Mb
      mcpromgr.exe - 13Mb
      mcshield.exe - 25.3Mb
      mcsysmon.exe - 11Mb
      mctskshd.exe - 2.5Mb
      mcupdmgr.exe - 13Mb
      mcusrmgr.exe - 5.7Mb

The figures are the amount of memory each process needs to run.
