Can anybody help with these stats?

      Hi,

Have been experiencing connection dropouts maybe once, sometimes twice a day for the last week, before this the connection was running fine with no problems for months.

I've just restarted the router and got these stats just after the connection has been misbehaving and I see that there are plenty of CRC errors, when it is running fine I don't get any CRC errors. Anyone know what could be causing this?

      Many Thanks,
      Paul

You are now showing conciderable CRC errors which were'nt present when you posted your other thread on the subject.
I would suggest you connect your router to the test socket behind the face plate of your master socket and run it there for a while to see if things improve. This will isolate the fault to the BT line or your internal wiring which was my problem when I had random disconnections.

It looks like you have suddenly developed line faults. It could be that BT are working on your section of the line and this is causing your problems. Have you seen any BT vans around your area?
As suggested, try from your test socket, as this will rule out internal faults, you never know, a mouse might have been nibbling at your line.

Re: Can anybody help with these stats?

Yep it could be BT but it has been happening for about a week now. Maybe they've done something outside and missed up my line!

Afraid I can't check on the test socket cos I don't seem to have one, unscrewed the wallplate of the two sockets in the house and there is no test socket there.

Just been looking at my stats again and can see that Pwr(dBm) download stat is all over the place. When I first got my stats it was 23.4 then the next time it was only 1.3 and now when I look it is 921.6!! Does anyone know if this is normal, could this be pointing to the problem?

Re: Can anybody help with these stats?

I'm pretty sure the CRC's are your issue, they are very high. Other options to do the test:

1 Make sure only pins 2 and 5 are connected in all your sockets, disconnect any others.

2 If problems persist find your master which will be the one with a couple of components like small batterys soldered on the circuit board inside. Then physically disconnect any extension wiring leaving only the 2 wires from the BT incoming line connected to pins 2 and 5, that is the same as plugging into the test socket.
