Question Advice on strange router / line problem please

      Hi

Wonder if someone could offer advice on my problem.
I've had sky mid in for a while now, and been getting a stable connection of 3776kbps which I was told initially on here was excellent for my stats. I've got Mossywell's bounce sky router installed and up until last week, it very rarely lost connection or rebooted at all.

However, in past week or so the router has been regularly losing connection and rebooting, but sync's back up at very low speed (eg today was 1312kbps @ 11.0db, yesterday 608kbps). On checking log file, this could happen several times a day.

When I manually reboot router it sync's at a higher speed, but sometimes takes several attempts to get back to somehwere near 3500 kbps.

I have tried router directly in master socket, and same thing happens over a few days.

I assume that the fault therefore is either with the router or the line, but not sure how to prove it one way or another. BT have done basic line check and said no faults or noise on line, but will charge callout fee if they have to come out and find no fault.

Can anyone offer any advice on what I can try next please?

Current stats as of now are :

Re: Advice on strange router / line problem please

If anyone can help, it has just rebooted and sync'd at 2112 kbps @ 14.6db.

Following stats show errors, but are they enough to suggest a possible line fault?

You have some errors there, when you say you tried the master socket, do you mean the test socket behind the face plate of the master socter?

Re: Advice on strange router / line problem please

mayke sure there's not a weird box BETWEEN the telephone line form the pole and the master socket - this is what I had and it was kill my internet and anything above 1mb/s was unstable - AFTER removing the box and going direct to the master socket speeds jumped from 1mb/s to about 13 mb/s

Re: Advice on strange router / line problem please

      Thanks for replys

Yes I meant the test socket behind the faceplate. Errors/problem still occur while plugged into that.

I can't see any box as such, other than the main black junction where the cable comes out of the ground at front of house.

Got following stats overnight last night, suggesting high error numbers again.
