Now there's a thunder storm and my noise margin is all over the shop - ranging from 3.2 to 7.2. Is that normal in a storm or do I still have a problem with my line?

My downloading has dropped back to 25kb/s

Quite normal I think, in fact, unless you have very good surge arresters, it is not very wise to be plugged in during a thunderstorm.

Whoops. Well I seem to have survived though it was the worst thunder storm I have seen since I was in Florida in 2001! It finally seems to be moving away and my noise margin has settled.

      Re: Help with speed

A week on and I wanted to give everyone an update in the hope it will help someone else in the future.

After the storm, it took another couple of days for my connection to go up to 2mb and then another 2 days to go up to 4mb. I'm now getting download speeds of over 500kb/s which is better than I had before.

My Trellis is still turned OFF, so this didn't seem to make any difference.

A very big thank you to all who gave advice in my hour/days of need!
