      Unhappy Incompatibility?

I use 18866 (Welcome to call18866.co.uk!) before I phone out to get zero pence per min rated uk calls & 2p /min Europe calls. Could this in any way screw up Sky Broadband?
I ask coz I'm still waiting to get the base Sky broadband & in May my order was cancelled by BT, & now this time it's 4 days past activation date & Sky tech say that there's a delay with BT & are looking into it. A visit to the bt adsl checker says that my exch is adsl enabled, but their records show that I have a product or service supplied to the line that is currently incompatible with broadband.
A real-time check with Prodigy networks states that my line has a SMPF on it - either the bband or phone service utilises an LLU service while bt provides the other service normally.
      Anyone shed any light?

do you have an alarm on the line? that will also cause issues, but the 'incompatible products on the line' thing will most definately be the issue and will need to be sorted before the provide will occur

      Re: Incompatibility?

Another thing that will cause 'incompatible line' problems is if you are on the BT Light User scheme. Users of this service cannot get broadband and must go on the full tariff to qualify.

      Re: Incompatibility?

      No alarm on line.
Line rental paid direct to BT.
      Not on light user scheme.
      Thanks for help.

      Re: Incompatibility?

      Well updating the story!
I'm told that there's a faulty tie pair & it'll take 3 wks to fix. Then I'm told I can't have SKY BB cos of technical issues at the exch & that I have to ring BT & get them to switch me from Locks Heath to Whiteley. I then moan at Sky cust serv & after 40min I'm told that Sky will contact BT on my behalf & that I can have Sky BB once I'm on the Whiteley exch.
However from searching as far as I can tell Whiteley isn't LLU'd
So, I just don't know what's going to happen. However so far I'm getting my activation fee back. I've also been told to write in to SKY for compensation. Their bband sign up page still showing my no. as avail for BB!
