      London Clerkenwell Exchange Problems?

      Hi,

I have had Sky broadband 16mb for about 8 months with no problems but 3 days ago I started getting connection issues!

Connection started dropping and would take about 15 mins to come back up, only to drop again 5-10mins later, this would happen continuously for about an hour and then all would be fine again. Thought this was just a one off but then the next day the same thing happened about three times during the day and yesterday as well. Doesn't seem to be at any particular time of day, just randomly at anypoint.

I have a wired connection so it's not wireless problems and im pretty certain it's not a router issue as I've managed to get login and password and try with a different router and I get exactly the same problems.

Anyone had the same kind of experience? Is it likely to be an issue with the exchange? Sky don't seem to be much help at the moment just saying that it's probably BT's fault!

      Many Thanks,
      Paul

Post your detailed stats using proceedure below, they may show something.

Go to the utility web site: Sky Netgear DG834GT utility version 0.4
Click the “Get” detailed modem stats button and click “OK”.
Enter the router login user name and password.
At the next screen, click the back button on your browser.
      Click the “Download” netgear.cfg button.
What you do next depends on your operating system. On Windows XP, click the “Save” button to save the file to your hard disk. (If you click “Open”, you may find that the file association is one that doesn’t handle carriage returns the same way as the router, hence the reason for saying “Save”.)
Open the file in WordPad (not notepad).

      Re: London Clerkenwell Exchange Problems?

Mmmmm they look ok, The only thing I can suggest is extract the stats again during or after the problem has occured, because according to those stats your router has only been running for 2 and a half hours and wont have a log of when your problem occured. Also check that uPNP is turned off in the router menu which is a known issue.

      Re: London Clerkenwell Exchange Problems?

Ok thanks Koala, will post stats again if I get the problem. Didn't know about UPnp bug that has been turned on all this time so switched off now, hopefully that might fix it!
