      Internet light on router not showing, Internet not working

      Hello, last week I was playing an online game and my internet connection just went. I’ve had the sky broadband for about 5 months with no real problems. The Internet light wasn’t showing so I turned off the router and gave it some time to cool down (it used to get really hot); I kept doing this with no luck. I then rung tech support, first time they put me on hold and hang up, second time they said I would get a call to help me. I’m still waiting for the call and my internet is still not working. I’ve tried unplugging everything and plugging it back in. I think the router was faulty as it used to get really hot and it suddenly just went. Here’s the router status:

      Either faulty router or fault at the exchange, if you haven't got another router to try you will have to wait on Sky I'm afraid.

      have you got another type of adsl2+ router if so (you can extract username and pass using a utility on these forums) can you try that? if that doesnt work then its possible you have no ADSL2+ sync with the exchange and you will have to contact sky, if it does sync up, then contact sky for a router replacement..

      No I havent got another router im afraid, still waiting for my phone call from sky but no luck yet. Thanks for the quick replys, hopefully it will sorted soon.

      go to the bottom of the router page run the sky test, it will save u hassle. Record the error code if present. If successful go to connection status and hit connect. Record whether it says connection status connected, negotiation success yadda yadda yadda or if it says LCP is down. Now i realise this is a daft question but how hot did the router get?
      It doesn't get better than this band lol

      After 2 weeks of non-stop calls my internet is finally back online, however i am getting really really slow speeds (13.0 KB/Sec). I really dont know what to do now, everything is pluged in correctly etc. Is it just temporary or am I going to have to give them another call?

      ur probably on a default package of 128k if there's nothin wrong with ur setup. Call sky u'll get to tier 3 they'll up the rate.
      It doesn't get better than this band lol
