      Internet light on router not showing, internet not working

      Hello, last week I was playing an online game and my internet connection just went. Iíve had the sky broadband for about 5 months with no real problems. The Internet light wasnít showing so I turned off the router and gave it some time to cool down (it used to get really hot); I kept doing this with no luck. I then rung tech support, first time they put me on hold and hang up, second time they said I would get a call to help me. Iím still waiting for the call and my internet is still not working. Iíve tried unplugging everything and plugging it back in. I think the router was faulty as it used to get really hot and it suddenly just went. Hereís the router status:

      If the internet light is not on then you are not syncing with the exchange. This could mean that ADSL has been disabled on your line, or your router has died. The latter is the most likely, but you can check quite easily if you plug another router in. It does not need to be a sky router or even have your name/password. All you want to find out is if your line is enabled and syncing. If another router syncs it means yours is dead. phone Sky and tell them your router is dead. If the other router also fails it means your line is causing the problem, phone Sky and tell them your line has become disabled. Be prepared to go through a lot of useless testing when you phone.
