      Angry DC++ (P2P) Problems!

      Okay, got my Sky broadband about a month ago and everything is great, good speeds as I'm not too far away from the exchange!

      Anyway, downloaded DC++ as I use this app often, as in every day! Installed and what notand realised I was not getting any search results, a little research shows that I had to run it in passive mode, which produced little to no search results!

      Does anyone else run DC++ on sky/wireless and know a solution?!

      Thanks in advance, Ash!

      you need to run in passive ode or set ur modem to allow port forwarding (i just set my router do DMZ on my ethernet connection so i can be on active)

      you can set your Sky router to one too I think, in the router settings somewhere...passive mode is what you use when running through a firewall, but will only allow you to download off active users

      To become active dc++ user the best way is to portforward to your computer

      this will show you how...

      cause i can't be arsed to port forward i just set myself to DMZ but you have to be sure you're up to speed firewall wise!!

      but yeah, follow that advice!! ^

      Okay I tried this tutorial 'Port Forwarding for the Netgear DG834GT' and thanks astra, but now the hubs are saying 'Your direct connect client has supplied an invalid IP address in a connection request (client sent ---.---.-.-, you have --.---.---.---) obviously the dashes are numbers, any ideas?

      Re: DC++ (P2P) Problems!

      you need to find out ur external IP address, chances are the router is fowarding the internal one (or other way round)....example, my internal one is 10.0.0.3 but external is like a normal IP address - you need the external one to make DC work...
