      I am migrating to Sky Max on thursday and wanted to know what sort of speeds I will be looking at. I am approximately 1.20km from the exchange (straight line distance), and here are my stats at the moment on 8mb line

      Low attenuation/low errors. Provided you get put on ADSL2+ you should expect something around 15000kbps - until you're connected you can't be certain though.

      I predicted a sync of ~15000kbps - you're connecting at 16380kbps. That's very good for your attenuation.

      No, your upload is right. Router sync and data transmission speeds are not the same thing i.e. Sky advertise up to 16meg downstream and up to 768kbps upstream. That's sync speed. Speedtests measure data transmission speeds.

      Data transmission carries an overhead approaching 20%. So your upload and download speeds will be ~80% of your sync speeds.

      As an aside, your speedtest result shows you have your PC settings just right and you're achieving >80% of your sync speeds.
