      New to the 'site

Hi Guys, I tripped over this website the other day, whilst looking for info on Sky Broadband. You're now a favourite, nicely laid out 'site with enough Sky related subjects to keep me reading for weeks.
I'm with Plusnet at the moment but want to migrate to Sky Broadband Max, as we as a family can have four computers on the 'net and fall foul of usage limits regularly. Do Sky have a peak time where they limit usage and what is that limit?
Also, who do I contact first - - Plusnet (to get a MAC code) or Sky to arrange it all.
Looking forward to your Expert advice

No peak time limits with Sky Max
Ask PN for your Mac first, then arrange your Max connection with Sky.

Once you;ve switched over, we can help you get the best from your set up.

Thanks for that, I've now requested a MAC code from Plusnet. Let's see how long the whole process takes

Got my MAC code in less than 24Hrs !

Hi again, Plusnet supplied my MAC code in less than 24 Hrs from my time of requesting it.
Spoke to Sky Broadband tonight and organised Max Broadband, let's see how long it takes for the letter to arrive, not too long hopefully as my current speeds are abysmal.

what speeds are you getting at present? If you're far from your exchange chances are you will get similar or slightly better with Sky but as it's using the same phone line so will be subject to the same constraints as ur previous ISP...

I was on ADSLMax with PN and got 2.5Mb out of an up to 8Mb service.

With Sky I get 6Mb stable (can get over 8Mb if I dont mind it going unstable).

Plusnet Premier option 1, 21.99 a month and less than 1Mb from a supposedly 8Mb service for the past 4 months. One day in January I was getting nearly 5Mb - but it was only for 1 day
