Hi , i am just awaiting my activation(which should have been 23/05/07 ) i can connect to router ok,i am using the ethernet cable, but of course i am still getting broadband from my current provider. Amongst the letters i received fom sky prior to my activation date i was given one with a password. now i know the passwords for the router are admin, sky, but when do i get to put in this other password, does a special box come up when i am activated, i have read some of your threads but i havent seen the exact thing i need to know. and what do i do if when sky activate my line i cant connect properly, i wont be able to get online to ask for help(catch 22 ) am i being paranoid or just thick, any helpers out there?

The password and username Sky sent you is for the portal - Nothing to do with the router, hope this helps.

er, not really, so when do i put in this other password then? will i have to do anything other than click on my browser?

You only need the Username and password Sky sent you if you wish to log onto the Sky portal.

The router has its own unique username and password, which is hardcoded into it.

Theoretically all you need to do with the router is connect it to the phone line and your PC and then click on Internet Explorer or Fire Fox to connect to the internet.

As nr said the password/id you have received is to login to the sky portal. You wont need to put any password / id for the router as it is embedded in it. When your sky service is activated the router will connect automatically.
