      Sky Broadband question

Hi, my exchange just got activated, I want to change to LLU sky, but i have a problem, im currently with plusnet and i have a free Static IP. a static ip is vital for me for many reasons. And i cant consider sky as an ISP if they donít offer me this service. (i donít mind paying a one off fee but im not going to pay a monthly fee as that is Illegal. infact, its against the law to charge for static IP's but some consider it an admin fee.
Anyway, can i get a static ip from Sky? I have not seen any information regarding this on their site.

      Re: Sky Broadband question

Would something like no-ip or DynDNS not be any use to you? They give you a static address on the net like myname.dyndns.org, which gets re-routed to your current dynamic IP address. Your computer or your sky router can send regular updates so that this address is always pointing to the correct IP address.

this could eb possible, however it is more of a final straw, i am yet to be convinced by sky broadband, i would have been if they offered a static ip, but if they dont support such a basic service, im not looking foward to when i have a techical problem.
