      Home Install

      Hello,

I will be getting the MAX plan for my new house, i was just wondering, what the home install included, i only have a telephone line downstairs, but i want the router up in my room, will the tech guy run a wire up into my room?

What is included in the home install?

      -Thanks

      Re: Home Install

I don't think the Sky engineer will run cables all over your house.

What he will do is to unpack the items and install the software and fire up your BB as close to the telephone connection as the supplied cable allows unless you have a longer cable available.

He may enable your wireless if you ask nicely.

And he leaves all the empty packaging behind

I would, in advance of your router kit arriving, get the correct cable and ADSL faceplate and install them yourself.

When the Sky BB kit arrives you can install yourself and I would suggest that you DON'T use the CD to install, just plug the router in and switch on.

      Re: Home Install

Darn, i could do that.....lol, how easy would it be to run a new extiontion up to my room, i know BT charge 125 (something like that) for 1. Is it just a case of getting 1 of them plugin extention cables? Or is their a better way?

Will that work? and will i need that additinal microfilter?
