      Re: Help With Frequent Disconnection

Just a point, when you took the first stats after plugging in to the test socket they show you have been connected for 'Total time = 1 days 13 hours 41 min 11 sec'. I don't think this can be correct, the router should have resynchronized, it does not appear to have done so. This means you carried over the errors and this does not give a true reflection of your test socket. Maybe someone can confirm whether my thinking is right or wrong?

      Re: Help With Frequent Disconnection

i didn't turn the router off if thats what you mean.

i uncrewed the bt faceplate, and plugged the router straight into the test socket.

was a bit unsure if you guys wanted me to turn off the router. can do if that helps.

      thanks

in responce to koala 5's question, the lines ok, no distortion or crackling..

how about the stats taken every 15 minutes, surely they seem ok?

You shouldn't have to. When you take the plug out of the phone line that should force the router to re-sync, but that does not seem to have happened. Try switching off the router, for about 30 secs then turn it on again. Before you do so, take your stats and save them for later comparison.

      Re: Help With Frequent Disconnection

Are you still plugged into the test socket? If so it is a bit strange how your Attn has risen from 40 to 41. Your SNR is very low, were you using the Mognuts to raise it before? If so try it again.
Have you tried another filter? If so, if you happen to have a cable for an ordinary dialup modem, try it with that, plugged direct to the test socket. That will rule out having two bad filters.

      Re: Help With Frequent Disconnection

its now plugged into the user socket..

tried a second filter as well

after the reboot, i left the router as is, and now, (after an hour) i've used the mognut utility to raise then snr.

      * using mognuts utility to increase to 7db,

      * plugged into user bt socket, (not test),

      * with only wires 2 (blue with white band) and 5 (white with blue band) plugged into back of bt user socket

      * with a new filter on main bt socket where router is plugged in

      * filters on every socket in home, (have 4 more hardwired wall sockets , but only 2 are being used by telephones)

      * not yet checked wiring of these 4 sockets, but probably all wires connected like the main one downstairs before i disconneced the 4 spare ones.

If you need anymore help please post your questions as i really need your help

      thanks.
