      Unhappy desperate for help/comments

      Hi everyone

For a while ive been having slow d/l speeds min 100kbps max 3.5mb, on max service upto 16mb, i was told by sky bbb customer services it was an exchange issue which has since been resolved. however i was still getting similar results, ive since cat5e my router to my pc instead of wireless and checked my settings are 100full in my device manager for the lan. when i ask for my router stats using the netgear front page it states that im connected at 14meg down with 746kbps up all good then i think, so why do i only get a max of 3meg with 600kbps up when i run any speed test. ive also looked at my master bt socket, its an old type without the dummy socket, inside it has a white with blue stripes and a white with green stripes connected to number 2 and a blue with white stripes and a green with white stripes connected to number 5.

sky customer services have done a line check back to the router and verify the exact same stats as im getting from the router, why is it im loosing over 10meg from my router to my pc?

Sky cs are now no longer able to help is the answer i got last night so im a bit stuck.......!!!

I am a bit confused, you say you have a maximum d/l of 3.5Mb, but the download link you have posted shows you are getting 9463 kbps, which is 9.462mbps, which is approximately 1.2 MBps.

There is every possibility that your internal wiring is causing a bit of a slow down, but apart from getting a modern master socket fitted, there is not much you can do.

      Try this for the optimiser:

      Optimising your Broadband Connection
