      Strange SNR fluctuations

I've been experiencing unusual SNR readings today and wondered if there was a simple explanation?

As you can see from the SNR fluctuation graph below my SNR is zig-zagging from around 9.7 to 6.7 and back again within around 40-50 seconds.

My SNR is usually quite steady. The line on that graph is normally very straight and the reading gradually decreases during the evening and rises again during the day.

My connection speed is capped at 8096 kbps and I usually sync at around 7616 but I rebooted at the current speed last night. I find the relative lack of errors over the last hour slightly unusual too.

      Re: Strange SNR fluctuations

Never mind, the fluctuation appears to have stopped.

Notice how the line has flattened out near the end of the graph at 21:10.

      Weird while it lasted.

      Re: Strange SNR fluctuations

Sorry, here's the link: DMT (DSL-Modem Tool)

You'll want v8.05 for the Sky router. That link is to the Windows XP version BTW.

You will also have to use Mossywell's Bounce Utility to turn on the router's Telnet Daemon before you can use the DMT.

      IP Address: 192.168.0.1
      Port: 23
Login: admin (or whatever you have changed it to)
      Password: <blank>

"Special Logon" should be enabled, I think.
