    speed not what it says

    This is a discussion on speed not what it says within the Sky Broadband help forums, part of the Sky Broadband help and support category; my router says connected at 5744 downstream yet when i do a speed check only getting 1800 to 1950 does ...

      Unhappy speed not what it says

      my router says connected at 5744 downstream yet when i do a speed check only getting 1800 to 1950 does anyone know why this is

      Which checker are you using ? Some of them can be a bit unreliable - this one seems ok :-

      The router figure (5744 kbps) is your connection speed not your download speed which you quote at 1800-1950 kbps.

      If there are no problems you should get a higher download speed that that but there are many reasons why you are not. Post some details router stats for a start then I would look at some of the other threads.
