Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 250 kbps
      DSL connection rate: 128 kbps(UP-STREAM) 672 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 179 kbps

is that a good test. my internet connection is at the highest I have seen. 672kbps. Is this the best i expect from Sky, maybe I should leave as this isn't acceptable for my needs, unless there is a problem with my line and I should chase it up

Anyone leaving Sky and wants Broadband and Freeview and
a hard disc recorder should check out

      BT Vision

As the box is installed by a BT engineer, who knows,
they may even sort out your line.

      Re: Do I leave Sky?

I am not quite sure how it works, but your have been capped by BT at 250 kbps, yet you are connecting at 672, I did not think this was possible. Did the report mention anything about contacting your ISP? The only thing I can suggest now is that your d/l and install Mossy's Utility, obtain your detailed stats and post them. Someone may have an idea what is going on.

I must emphasise though, that although they should certainly help fix it, this is not Sky's fault. It definitely looks like you have a very bad fault on your line which only BT can fix. Have you tried a quiet line test? If you want to try, remove the face of your master socket, plug a phone into the test socket and dial 17070, then select option 2. Your line should be completely silent, if it is not, report a noisy line to BT. It is important that you use the test socket as this cuts out any chance of interference from your internal wiring. If it is silent then replace the plate and try the same test from one of your extensions.

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 135 kbps
      DSL connection rate: 128 kbps(UP-STREAM) 416 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 92 kbps

todays test, 416 is a good speed too from what Im used to, did the silent test and it sounded pretty silent to me from what I could tell. Been waiting nearly 5days for Tier2 to ring me back, everytime I ring some indian dude makes me do that annoying tier1 rubbish everytime and wastes 20mins of my phone bill.

whats this mossy utility, I looked on google for it and was a web page full of shotguns lol

      Re: Do I leave Sky?

just spent 23mins, speaking to tier1 again, had to change my microfilter and do my test socket for the 1000th time, I kept telling him I have done this. silly little indian, its really driving me insane.

Got to ring back tier1 again, apparently he has raised another ticket with tier2, I hate the fact I waste 5mins at the start while they read my notes.

my router was reset when I was doin the troubleshooter with the sky tier1 people, thats why i dont have a great deal of stats, this is what I have so far.

I think its safe to say my net is just terrible. Sky Broadband Techincal support is down at the moment for 2hrs, this happens alot when I ring, lol
