I have and I am maxing out my connection so 500-600kBs dependent on my sync speed and on a good torrent. upload I have seen spike at 90kBs on unlimited and run around 80kBs.

I'm on max and my upload is usually 70kBs, but I've never got my download over 200kBs - its usually around 100kBs. I've tried tweaking left right and centre but can't work out what I'm doing wrong.

Running utorrent also slows down my total speed over time - when I first start it up it will download between 100-200 and I can surf in the background as normal. After 72hrs the download is down to around 6kBs and I cannot surf at all - in fact my dialup connection box keeps appearing as the PC thinks I'm not connected at all

@Hurdy, do you have protocol encryptions enabled? are you using the standard settings or have implimented tweaks for your connection?

Have you checked your SNR when your torrent speeds drop?

Can you post your settings Hugsie.

Maybe if we duplicate your router and Torrent client (Azurues/ABC/Bittorent) settings.. he might have better throughput.

I'm also getting my full line speed up and down with torrents. It's fantastic compared to my last ISP, plusnet.

If your speeds are slowing off it's likely that your router is getting a lot of CRC errors it cant fix, so please do post your stats and we can see what's going on.

Try limiting your upload to, say, 11mbps. This prevents your connection becoming "flooded" with requests. Also, enable forwarding in your router to the listening port of your client.

It may be worth tinkering with the number of connections for global, upload and download.. I will try and track down the fab tutorial I used some time ago and link to it!

      U torrent tutorial

This is the tutorial I used to optimise my connection. I found it very useful, although it is specific to your connection so you will have to do a little maths!
