When the phone rings
I need help. Sky's technical helpline dont seem to know the answer and i am getting fed up with constantly racking up my mobile phone bill......read on.
I was with NTL up until recently and have changed over to Sky in the last 2 months.
Everytime the BT phone line is in use (either outgoing/incoming) we lose the connection to the broadband until the phone call is finished. This is extremely frustrating when playing something like WOW or just on the net and the connection drops.
can anyone come up with a solution?
Thanks

Re: When the phone rings
Especially if you are using a wireless adapter in your computer, the cordless phone is probably the culprit. First move the cordless base station away from either the router or the computer, if no better try changing channels on the cordless. Then try changing channel on the wireless adapter and router (see tutorials here).
If you are using an ethernet cable between the computer and the router, again move the phone base station away. You may need to pay attention to the phone wiring (see posts here on faceplates, problems with extensions).
All phones need to be filtered.
