      Just joined

      Hi

Just joined sky max today from Demon. All went to the Sky timetable so far so good

I was on 8Meg with Demon but usually connected at about 2.5Mb because of my attenuation and SNR 58db and 6db resp with a dlink router

Since being activated today I get the following stats using the utility. My question is should I start chasing up sky (or do I wait for the 10 day training period) as I should be on ADSL2+ - the detailed stats says I'm on gdmt. I notice my attenuation has chaged to 15db now with Sky. Is that good

      Re: Just joined

      okay.

1 - the 15.5 is a bug, if you reboot the router it should return to the true figure
2 - there is no training period on LLU (max/mid/base) only BT ADSLMax (Connect)
3 - G.DMT is probably best for you as ADSL2+ only really comes into play for attenuations of <45db.
4 - you are getting 3.5ish MB which is better than your old ISP so you must be happy?
5 - have you tried the test socket underneath the master socket for better resuklts (see my sig).

      Re: Just joined

Yeah I replaced the master socket with afiltered socket and ran a new cable to my router whilst I was Demon.

Yes I am pleased with the faster speeds (for 10 a month less as well!!) I noticed the upload has approx doubled to 768 whilst it was always about the 300 mark with Demon - any ideas why?

I understand that it might be a bit more disconnections if I was on ADSL2+ do you think it may be worth the extra speed which I might gain

      Re: Just joined

I dont think ADSL2+ will give you any more speed. Not worth the hassel

Not sure but I think LLU offers better U/L than BTMaxdsl (which I assume that's what Demon used).
