      Cannot log into router

      Hi

Im having a problem logging into my router. Ive only ever logged into my router once before and i changed the password and now many months later i forgot the password and i cannot log in. I have tried resseting the router but it wont accept the default username and password. I get the pop up box and a new window behind it which is just blank.I type the username and password but when i hit enter the box flashs and nothing happens the white screen doesnt change and nothing loads. Ive tried leaving it for a couple of mins but it just crashes my browser and i have to close it via task manager.

Any help with how i can log into my router would be great, Thx MaTT

      Re: Cannot log into router

To reset the router push a pen tip into the small hole on the back of the router next to the power socket and hold in for 10 seconds then release. You should now find it has reverted to just how it was when you received it.

      Re: Cannot log into router

Ive already tried resetting it but it just wont accept the default password, i think it may be something to do with my net browser because it just freezes up my internet when i press ok and nothing loads on that white page in the background.

      Re: Cannot log into router

sounds like an internet issue if your getting blank pages

      i might be wrong

as above it will def reset your router to default password if you do as explained above

Ive already tried resetting it but it just wont accept the default password

when you reset it puts it back to the default password that i dont understand

1 what user/pass are you putting in to try and access your router
2 how are you trying to log into your router

      Re: Cannot log into router

are you wireless or wired. If you've reset the router, then you'll have to use wired to access the router admin pages.

      Re: Cannot log into router

Doing the "reset to factory defaults" will def. reset the password as well.

Don't forget if you changed any of the wireless settings then those will have been reset also.

Does the wireless connection in the task bar look normal? If it has a red cross or yellow exclamation on it then this means that the automatic connection to the router has failed. If that has happened then you won't have a connection to the router.

Try using a wired connect and see if you can connect and logon to the router using that.
