      Re: Speed On Connect Dropped.

I have the same problem on this Connect package, it all started after that downtime last Saturday evening. As I post this now everything is fine but come the eveing I am struggling to get beyound 1000 kb/s, although as each day as come and gone the speeds are getting a bit quicker. Perhaps it is a general network problem.

When people say "reboot" on these forums do they mean turn the router on and off i.e. pull the power lead out of the back and then plug it back in ? Or use the "reboot" function in the router settings when you log onto it using a pc ? Is the result different ?

i use mossywells utility you will find it on here
      http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/techn...matically.html
just one click your router reeboots or

theres a little hole in the back of your router stick a pen in for 10secs and it will reeboot but that way will also reset all your settings use mossywells excellent little app

My speed in the mornings is fine but it is in the evening when it takes a nose dive and I bet yours tonight will as well. I will try this rebooting suggestion if might speed slows again although each night this week they have got a little faster..

      Re: Speed On Connect Dropped.

Even on the max product, between 6 and 10 at night I get really awful speds and I reset the router from the diagnostics tab from the router web interface and it all works again for the rest of the night.

To be honest given that Sky have entered the market at a cut throat price I think their system cannot cope with the amount of users it has at busy periods (which seems to be backed up by the fact as certain areas are now "sold out" for the LLU product)

So hopefully Sky will get more servers, routers, bandwith, or whatever they need to do to keep the service running smoothly soon.

      Re: Speed On Connect Dropped.

As my router syncs at 5056 downstream does that mean i should be getting download speed closer to 5000kbps? or does it not work like that?

      Re: Speed On Connect Dropped.

last night my connection stopped working, when i rebooted my modem i discovered that it couldnt even find a internet connection so i went to bed in a really bad mood. This morning the internet light was back on but when i done a speed test i found i was only downloading at 180Kb/sec which has really annoyed me. I have read all the posts on here and decided to ask for some help because the sky customer services is...well pants .
