My line was switched to Sky in early February - to 8Mbit, I thought. Since then I have had a niggling concern as to why my download speed *never* exceeds 230KBps, equivalent to about 2Mbps. I called Sky customer support on Saturday (during the server failure affecting Connect customers) and got through to a very helpful chap who raised my call to Tier "2 or 3". I got a call at 18:00 today which said that my "profile" had indeed been inadvertently left at 2Mbps (per my previous Tiscali connection) and has now been changed, and to allow another 28 hours for things to settle down.

Is this sort of inadvertent "capping" common, or am I alone?
